A man who lost his family, job and peace in the ongoing genocide happening in Syria has taken up the most powerful weapon to protest- art! Akram Abo Alfoz is a Syrian artist who calls his own work of art “Painting on Death”.
He uses disabled explosives and paints beautiful patterns on them. He belongs from the besieged city of Duma and is not afraid to show his dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs, but his way of portraying is more powerful than words. He is outspoken and doesn’t hesitate to speak out rightly about the people who are causing this war namely Russia, Iran and the Syrian Regime.
Before turning his art into a weapon, he used to paint on glasses but now that everything is destroyed in war, he takes up the tools used in the war as a weapon.
He even gives a reason for the medium he uses and says that he uses disabled bombs because he doesn’t want his children to bear them as much as he has, and to show that people from Syria are more about love and peace than warfare!
More power to you, Akram Abo Alfoz! May artists like you be the eye to the blinds who know nothing but violence and torture.
