For the first time ever Amazon made history by delivering a package using a drone in just 13 minutes after the order was placed in Cambridge, England.
Amazon founder and Chief Executive Officer took to the Twitter to express his excitement via this announcement.
First-ever #AmazonPrimeAir customer delivery is in the books. 13 min—click to delivery. Check out the video: https://t.co/Xl8HiQMA1S pic.twitter.com/5HGsmHvPlE
— Jeff Bezos (@JeffBezos) December 14, 2016Amazon then posted a video on its website explaining how a quadcopter drone was used to deliver an Amazon Fire TV box and a bag of popcorn to a customer identified only as Richard B.
Amazon got the approval of flying drones that are no longer within sight of their operators in rural and suburban areas, this year in Britain.
Despite having one person operate several highly automated drones, and testing devices to make the drones capable of identifying and avoiding obstacles, the internet is not happy.
Neat experiment but 1000s will make our skies ugly & lead to accidents. I'd rather see clouds than drones & consumer lust.
