Jackie Chan won Oscar after working 56 years in the film industry. The honorary award was handed to him by Chris Tucker, with whom the star has worked in the film, Rush Hour. Actors like, Michelle Yeoh and Tom Hanks joined the celebrations at the Governors Awards in Los Angeles over the weekend.
It was because of his roles that Jackie Chan never got an entry into the Oscars. He regularly missed the chance of holding the golden statue in spite of having a glorious record in the film industry.
“After 56 years in the film industry, making more than 200 films, after so many bones, finally…” he joked.
“I continue to make movies, jumping through windows, kicking and punching, breaking my bones.”
Tom Hanks mentioned in the celebrations that it was a sad fact that Oscar always overlooked martial arts and action comedies at awards shows.
“Standing here is a dream,” said Chan at the podium.
